Australian Computer Society (ACS)

Australian Computer Society (ACS) is the target agency for all the computer and IT related graduates to get their skills assessment done. In fact, ACS is the only agencies that does the skills assessment for ICT related areas barring few professions of management level that is also done by some corresponding assessment bodies. There are definite set of guidelines to be followed for the application to ACS based on your qualification and experience level in the nominated field.

CLASSESS

Classes of Skills Assessment at ACS

There are three classes of skills assessment at ACS, those are listed below:

Class 1: People with Overseas ICT qualification
If you have an ICT major qualification from overseas, you require 2 years of work experience in the past 10 years of your work history working in the nominated occupation to be eligible for skills assessment. However, you ICT major qualification must also be highly relevant to your nominated occupation. If it is not highly relevant, you require 4 years of work experience for being eligible. This pathway is called General Skills Pathway.
Class 2: People with Australian ICT qualification
If you have an ICT major qualification from Australia, you require 1 year of work experience after the degree completion or the completion of a Professional Year Program in your field to be eligible for skills assessment. Your work experience can be inside or outside Australia but must be after your degree completion.


Class 3: People with Just Experience
If you have a degree with no or very marginal ICT content, you require 6 years of work experience from your work history plus a suitable RPL form dictating your work in the nominated occupation to be eligible. If you don’t have any tertiary degree, you require 8 years of work experience from your work history plus a suitable RPL form dictating your work in the nominated occupation to be eligible.
